Class Strategy

Let's take your child's reading to the next level! Boost their enjoyment and understanding of books through games, crafts, and scripts! Using exercises that utilize improv, puppets, storyboarding, repetition, and character "work", your child will find a voice for their characters. Classes for our pre- and emergent readers (4-5yo) focus more on expanding sight word inventory, expressing emotion through text, and fun with characters.

Playing with words and "performing" in a nurturing environment, contributes to a child's fluency and confidence. Check out our blog to read more about how we structure our classes.

Whether your child has a budding interest in theater or is aspiring to move up a reading level, our class is a fresh, fun ensemble experience.

About the Teachers

Cheryl Isbirian

Co-Founder/ Teacher

Cheryl fell in love with theater in 7th grade after taking a summer improvisation class. The confidence and creative freedom she gained propelled her to join her high school's theater program supplemented with classes at A.C.T’s Young Conservatory. She was accepted into UC Santa Barbara’s BFA program and graduated with a Major in Acting in 1998. Upon graduating, she moved to NYC.

She has 2 happily energetic kids (ages 5 and 7) who share her love for imaginative play.

Erin Kraven

Erin is a graduate of Indiana University with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She has taught for 16 years in elementary schools and is currently consulting for various school districts.

In addition to an education background, Erin has been active in theater since an early age. This program allows Erin to combine her love of theater and education in a new project.
