Book Spotlight

Isn't it great when you run into an old friend? I had this experience when I was perusing the book shelves at our local library. A title jumped out and grabbed my attention - How Droofus the Dragon Lost His Head by Bill Peet. This is a book I had escaped in many times as a child. As I slipped it into my book bag, I was filled with excitement to share Droofus with my son. If you haven't read a Bill Peet book yet, you will enjoy the beautiful artwork and the stories where the main character always has a moment of self-discovery at the end. Droofus faces many challenges but has a knack of making friends and turning lemons into lemonade. The illustrations are lovely and add a special touch to the story. Bill Peet is a great author and illustrator with more than 30 books to his name. You may recognize his art work in such great Disney films such as Peter Pan and 101 Dalmatians. I encourage your family to take a journey with Droofus and rediscover a great children's author.
