Fun with Sight Words

As you plan your weekly menu or tackle the calendar, here's a fun and easy activity to enjoy with your child. Look up a sight word list* or use our list here: I, can, we, the, at, am, it, up, no, yes. Cut out 20 leaves (good template here altho I might get arthritic on some of these shapes: https://www.firstpalette.com/tool_box/printables/leaves.html). Then write each word on two different leaves. Turn over the leaves and play a game of Memory with sight words! Make sure your child is saying the words as they find them...repetition and word association goes a long way.

* Number words with corresponding dots or names of colors on colored paper (to provide a hint for the word) would also work well.
