Frozen Bubbles - Sub Zero Fun
I know, I know - we are all about reading but Pipsqueak is also all about learning and having fun.The weather isn't perfect for a lot but it is just right for bubble freezing. My older son has been begging to do this since I showed him a video of a bubble freezing. We didn't have any "bubble juice" so we quickly made our own. We put some warm water and Dawn dish soap in a small bowl. We then used straws to draw a little of the solution into the straw and blew some bubbles. We ended up with lots of little ones but after leaving the solution to cool a little, we were able to blow larger bubbles. He loved watching the ice crystals form and then experimenting with them afterwards. To make it more educational, I had him draw the steps of our "experiment". If you haven't tried it yet, this week in the east is perfect for it.
