Reluctant Reader - Kid's Pick

Imagine my surprise last night, when my reluctant reader asked me for a pencil and highlighter for his reading time. I naively assumed it was for his post it work for school - nope, I was all wrong - it was to solve the first puzzle in his new book. Obviously he is hooked! The book is " The Magic Misfits" by Neil Patrick Harris (yes, Doogie Houser) and chronicles the life of Carter, a street magician on his journey to find friends and magic. The story is interjected along the way with puzzles, riddles and magic trick how-to's. Last I checked, he was reading by flashlight. Always a good sign.
